Pacific Lasertec (“Manufacturer”) warrants its Helium Neon lasers and power supplies to be free from defects in materials or workmanship for a period of one year from the date of shipment from the factory. The Manufacturer’s liability is limited to replacing, repairing or issuing credit, in our sole discretion, for any products that are returned by the original purchaser during the warranty period which fail to meet specifications. The Manufacturer makes no warranty that the products are fit for the use or purpose to which they may be put by the buyer, whether or not such use or purpose has been disclosed to the Manufacturer in specifications or drawings previously or subsequently provided, or whether or not the products are specifically designed and/or manufactured for buyer’s use or purpose. The Manufacturer’s liability for any claim for loss or damage arising out of the sale, resale or use of any of its products shall in no event exceed the selling price of the unit. Please contact the Manufacturer for any further required information.
Certain Helium Neon laser products sold by Pacific Lasertec possess labels indicating non-compliance with regulatory requirements pertaining to laser safety.
Non-compliance may be a result of special labeling requests, absence of a beam shutter, absence of a housing which prevents access to the beam, etc. Products with these characteristics are designed for OEM customers who wish to incorporate the products into their instruments.
IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE USER TO COMPLY WITH ALL SAFETY REQUIREMENTS AS APPLICABLE TO THE PRODUCT IN QUESTION, INCLUDING ATTAINING AN ACCESSION NUMBER, LABELING, SAFETY INTERLOCKS, SUBMITTING A PRODUCT REPORT AND FILING ANNUAL REPORTS AS MAY BE REQUIRED. For the United States, full requirements can be found at https://www.ecfr.gov/cgi-bin/text-idx?SID=fadde279701998264764f498650b2f92&mc=true&node=sp21.8.1010.a&rgn=div6. Other relevant information is contained in the standards specified under IEC 60825-1.
A key in determining your compliance requirements is the Laser Safety Class of the product in question. Pacific Lasertec HeNe laser products fall into Class II (Class 2), Class IIIa (Class 3R), or Class IIIb (3B). This is determined primarily by the maximum output power, beam size and operating wavelength. The Laser Class of your end-product may be different, depending on the installation configuration and potential for user access to laser light.
If information regarding the laser power, beam size or wavelength is unknown to you, please contact the factory or your local representative for this information.
